Comparison Heatmap Report
The Comparison Heatmap Report is an easy way to compare how scores have changed between surveys for specific groups of people.
Generate the Comparison Heatmap Report
To generate the Comparison Heatmap Report:
- Select Compare in the left menu.
- Select the two surveys you want to compare.
- Select the Reports link at the top of the screen, then Heatmap.
- Select a demographic category to view from the dropdown menu. Only demographic categories that matched across the the surveys will show.
Understanding the colours
When you generate the Comparison Heatmap Report, the difference of change for each demographic will show in the matrix as a percentage. These percentages will be paired with a colour:
- Green: This means there is a positive difference between scores. The more intense the green, the greater the scale of change.
- Red: This means there is a negative difference between scores. The more intense the red, the greater the scale of change.
The boldest colours don't indicate the best and worst scores, they only indicate the change between the surveys.
Example:
If the boldest red shows -20% but the first survey score for that demographic group was 96%, the latest survey score would be 76%.
To view the survey scores, hover over the heatmap cell you would like to view. A tooltip will appear showing the demographic scores for both surveys.
Use sorting to change how results as listed
Both questions and demographics can be sorted:
- alphabetically, and
- by the overall change between surveys.
By default:
- questions and categories are sorted from biggest to smallest overall change, and
- demographics are sorted alphabetically.
Missing demographics
If demographic options can't be matched across surveys, the Missing demographics label will appear, and those options will be excluded from your report. You can hover over the label to see which options have been excluded.
How to export this report
You can export the Comparison Heatmap Report as an Excel file.
Your file will include the colour gradient from the Heatmap and can be copied into another report or presentation.
