Why your survey might lock and how to fix it

AskYourTeam surveys are designed with your privacy and security in mind. To protect your responses, especially if someone else gains access to your unique link, your survey locks to the browser and device you first use.

That means your survey will lock if:

  • You switch between devices (e.g. from your phone to your laptop)
  • You switch browsers on the same device (e.g. from Chrome to Firefox).

Other actions that can also trigger a lock include:

  • Opening the survey in private or incognito mode
  • Clearing your browser history or cache
  • Updating or reinstalling your browser
  • Someone else clicking on your unique survey link

How to fix the problem

To unlock your link and continue with your survey, please try the following:

  1. Check if you’ve changed browsers or devices: You must start and complete your survey using the same browser and device. Avoid private or incognito mode.
  2. Check you’re using your own survey link: Your survey link is sent to you by AskYourTeam in an email or SMS text message and is unique to you. If someone else has sent you a link, they may have accidentally forwarded their own survey link.
  3. Ask us to reset your survey link: If none of these situations apply to you or you are unable to resolve the problem, please email our team at support@askyourteam.com and we’ll reset your survey link. Resetting your survey link will clear responses to any questions you’ve answered so far.
