How to add leaders and participants to your Leadership Effectiveness 360 survey
You can add leaders and participants in Step 4: Participants when creating your survey. Here's how to do it.
Add leaders to your survey
You must add the leaders first. This needs to be done before you can add people to their feedback group(s).
To add leaders:
Use the search box above the table. You can search by the leader's name or email address to find them.
Select the leader's name to add them to the table.
Add the start and end date for their survey.
Remember, your leader limit applies here. You can only add as many leaders to your survey as your subscription covers. For example, if your subscription is for 25 leaders you can only add 25 leaders or up to 25 leaders.
Add participants to the leader's feedback group
You can add participants to your leader's feedback group in two ways: by file upload or from the leader table.
By file upload
This method can be used for all participants. It also allows you to add participants to multiple leaders' feedback groups at once.
To add participants by file upload:
Download the Import Template above the table and open it.
Add a participant per row and include the required information:
Leader email
Participant's first name
Participant's last name
Participant's email
Relationship (this column only displays if you're running multiple group 360 that splits feedback into Peer, Manager, Direct Report, Other)
Save your changes and upload the file.
If your upload is successful, participants will automatically be added to your leader's feedback group(s) in the table.
If your upload is unsuccessful, you might have some errors in your file. Don't worry, we will tell you what went wrong and how to fix it.
From the leader table
This method can only be used to add participants from your participant library.
To add participants from the leader table:
Find the leader in the table who you want to add participants for.
Select the orange number or the green + icon under the following columns in the table:
Feedback Group (single group 360)
Direct Reports, Manager, Peers, Other (multiple group 360)
A modal will pop up. Search by name or scroll within the Add Participants drop-down to find participants.
Select their name and then Save to add them to the feedback group.
Why is there an alert icon in the table?
You might see an alert icon in the leader table. This is a triangle icon with a ! in the middle.
This is a warning that the leader doesn't have many participants in their feedback group. The number added is under the threshold, which means you won't be able to view results when the survey closes. You need to add more participants to resolve the alert.
How can I check who I've added?
Select the orange number under the following columns in the table:
Feedback Group (single group 360)
Direct Reports, Manager, Peers, Other (multiple group 360)
This will show you a list of participants in that leader's feedback group(s).
Can I add participants if the leader's survey is active?
No. You can't add participants to the leader's feedback group(s) if their 360 survey is active.
Remove leaders or participants
You can remove leaders or participants from your survey, but the process is slightly different for each one.
Remove a leader from your survey
To remove a leader:
Find the leader in the table that you want to remove.
Select the circle icon with the minus symbol next to the leader's name.
Remove a participant from a feedback group
To remove a participant:
Find the leader in the table that you need to remove a participant from.
Select the group that the participant belongs to by clicking the orange number under one of the following columns:
Feedback Group (single group 360)
Direct Reports, Manager, Peers, Other (multiple group 360)
A modal will pop up. Under the heading Participants providing feedback find the participant you want to remove.
Select the circle icon with the minus symbol next to them. This will remove the participant from the feedback group and the survey.
Can I remove a leader or participant from an active survey?
You can't remove a leader from an active survey.
For participants, it depends on whether they've started the survey or not. If the participant has started or completed the survey, you can't remove them. If the participant hasn't started the survey, you can remove them.
Edit a participant's reporting line or feedback group
If you need to change the reporting line or feedback group for a participant, you have to delete them from the survey and re-add them again.
