How to manage survey folders

Grouping surveys into folders can help organise your workspace for your team.

If you're an Account Manager you'll be able to:

  • create and remove folders

  • add and remove surveys from folders

  • archive surveys

  • rename folders

All other team members with AskYourTeam access can only view folders that contain surveys they've been assigned.

Default folders

Three folders will show by default and can't be deleted:

  • All surveys: Contains a list of all surveys (archived surveys will be excluded).

  • Archived: Use this for surveys you are not currently working with and don't need to reference.

  • Starred: Use this for surveys you need to refer to a lot. It's your own personal folder. Unlike all other folder types, you can add and remove surveys to this folder without affecting anyone else's view.

Create or delete folders

Create folders for your team or delete them when they're no longer needed.

To create a folder:

  1. Select New folder +.

  2. Enter a name.

  3. Select Save.

To delete a folder:

  1. Select the folder

  2. Select the three orange dots next to the folder title

  3. Select Delete.

If there are surveys currently in the folder, this action won't delete them. You'll still be able to access them in All surveys.

Add or remove survey from folder

As your needs change, you might need to add or remove surveys from folders.

To add survey to a folder

  1. Go to All surveys

  2. Select the three orange dots on the survey you want to add to a folder

  3. Select Add to.

  4. Select the folder you want to add it to and then Add.

When you add a survey to a folder you've created, it will still be available in All surveys.

If you'd like to move a survey from one folder to another, the process is the same except you don't need to start in All surveys. You can perform this action from any folder the survey is currently in.

The Starred folder is a bit different.

If you'd like to add an item to your Starred folder:

  1. Find the survey you want to star.

  2. Select the star icon next to the survey title. This will automatically add it to your Starred folder.

To remove a survey from a folder

  1. Go to the folder the survey is currently in.

  2. Select the three orange dots on the survey you want to add to a folder

  3. Select Remove.

You'll still be able to access the survey in All surveys.

The Starred folder is a bit different.

To remove an item to your Starred folder:

  1. Go to your Starred folder

  2. Unselect the star icon next to the survey title. This will automatically remove it from the folder.

Archive survey

To add a survey to the archived folder:

  1. Find the survey you want to archive.

  2. Select the three orange dots on the survey you want to archive.

  3. Select Add to.

  4. Select Archived and then Add.

When you archive a survey, it will no longer show in All surveys. If you change your mind, that's OK. Just go to Archived and add the survey to a different folder. This will remove it from the archive and make it available in the folder you've chosen and All surveys.

Rename folder

To rename a folder:

  1. Select the folder

  2. Select the three orange dots next to the folder title

  3. Choose Edit to rename the folder.
