Customise questions with your own words

You can replace keywords in AskYourTeam questions to reflect how you name things in your organisation.

The words you can replace are:

  • organisation
  • senior leadership team
  • team.

Add and set default words

You can save time and set default keywords for your organisation. This means you won't have to edit questions individually when creating a survey.

To get started, go to My organisation > Customise questions.

When you first visit this section, these words will be set as defaults:

  • organisation
  • senior leadership team
  • team.

To add a new word and set it as the default:

  1. Find the word you want to replace.
  2. Select the orange add icon (the + mark in the circle) next to it
  3. Enter the new word you want to use.
  4. Select the Add button.
  5. If you want to set this new word as the default, use the Select default dropdown and choose the word you just created.
  6. Select Save.

Your new word will now be set as the default.

This new word will be used in any new surveys you create. It will not be applied to any surveys that currently exist.

Remove words

If you want to remove a word you've added, select the x icon next to it.

If you remove all the words you've added, the original words will become the default.

These words are:

  • organisation
  • senior leadership team
  • team.

These words can't be removed.

If you remove a word you've added and it has already been used in a survey, it will still exist at a survey level. So if you go to the survey and navigate to the Questions list, you will see that word as an option in the dropdown.

Override default words for a specific survey

You can override organisation defaults at a survey level. This might be useful if you need to use different words for a specific survey.

Here's how to override default words for a specific survey:

If you haven't created the survey yet

  1. Go to Surveys in the left-hand menu.
  2. Select Create survey.
  3. In the Questions step, you will see each individual question listed. A dropdown will be available on any question containing organisationsenior leadership team or team.
  4. Select the word you want to use for each question.

If you have created the survey

  1. Go to Surveys in the left-hand menu.
  2. Find the survey you want to edit.
  3. Select the three dots on the survey card.
  4. Select Edit.
  5. Go to the Questions step. You will see each individual question listed. A dropdown will be available on any question containing organisationsenior leadership team or team.
  6. Select the word you want to use for each question.

Any changes you make here will not affect settings at an organisational level.
