What is the Staff Survey?
It’s an opportunity for all staff to provide feedback on how they feel about the organisation. It tells us what we’re doing well and what needs to change.
Why should I take part?
It’s a valuable opportunity to provide feedback on our organisation and to influence decisions about how your organisation operates internally. Your answers will identify areas which you feel are working well, or need improving, within the organisation.
How long will it take me to complete the survey?
The time to complete a survey can vary based on the type of survey. When you click the survey invitation link, you will land on a welcome page that will let you know how long the survey will take to complete.
Can I save my responses and come back to the survey?
You don’t have to complete the survey in one go, you can save your responses and come back as many times as you like during the survey period. Once you submit your responses you won’t be able to change them.
Can I edit my responses part way through?
Yes. You can edit your responses. However, once you’ve submitted your responses, you won’t be able to edit them.
Is the survey anonymous?
The survey is designed to give participants an opportunity to give confidential, 100% honest feedback about an organisation.
In addition to this we have designed functionality within our system to ensure that confidentiality is maintained even with the granularity of analysis which clients find so valuable. There is a report threshold so that any time a report is generated the system, individual responses cannot be separated and looked at.
We also allow report restrictions to be enforced so that different parts of an organisation can have access to their relevant teams/departments/sections (whichever sub-filters you have chosen for your survey).
Why do I receive reminders if the survey is confidential?
When we indicate that a survey is confidential, it means that we have no way of associating any of the responses or comments provided in the survey with the person who submitted that response. However, each participant is provided with a unique survey link or token to complete the survey.
The unique link is only used to check if you have accessed or completed the survey. This information allows us to calculate a participation rate and to send automated reminders to those who have not yet completed the survey.
The unique link cannot be used to see your actual survey responses.
The unique survey link or token expires when the participant completes the survey and cannot be reused.
Who sees the responses and analyses the data?
This is controlled by the survey administrator in our customer organisation.
Unless very clearly indicated at the start of the survey, the results will be viewed in aggregate. Results will not be displayed per individual. Typically, the people who may see results are:
- HR Managers
- Customer Managers
- Team Leaders
- Senior Leaders
- Results may be shared with all staff at a high level
- AskYourTeam customer services person to support our customer
What are the results used for?
Your feedback helps identify trends that indicate good performance and potential issues that require action.
The feedback is used to guide where action can be taken that would most improve organisation productivity, employee wellbeing and/or leadership effectiveness.
When will we get the results?
This depends on the survey administrator and the topic of the survey.
We generally recommend to our customers they share organisational level results within a week or two of the survey closing. Team results will be made available to managers across the organisation, and they'll share the results with you at a time that best suits your team. But this is entirely dependant on the preferences of the survey administrator and leadership team.
Where and when can I access the results?
You may have the option to download your answers at the end of the survey. This will depend on the survey settings.
If you’d like to access information on the results for your team please speak to your manager or the survey administrator.
What should our team do with the results?
Doing the survey is just the first part – the real benefits come from using the survey information to discuss the key things you’d like to change in your work environment. Your manager will work with you to identify what you want to take action on, and to implement these and check if the changes have been effective.
How do we know this survey is valid?
