Text Analysis Report
The Text Analysis Report helps you gather insights from written feedback quickly. It only shows as a report option when your survey collects free-text comments.
This report can help you:
understand what's important to your people
identify trending topics and issues that need urgent action
It contains three tabs:
All questions: This is the report. It contains an overview of comments across your survey, or you can drill down to a specific question.
Sensitive comments: A folder that highlights comments on sensitive topics, like bullying or sexual harassment.
Starred comments: A folder you can use to file comments you'd like to refer back to. For example, if you want to collect comments for a report or presentation.
All questions tab
This is the first tab in the Text Analysis report. It allows you to explore comments at a survey level or by question.
Explore the report at survey level
This is the default view of the report. It looks at all comments in your survey.
It contains a:
topic sentiment bubble chart, and
list of all questions in your survey with a comment field.
Each question is in a card that shows the following:
question
question type (e.g. free text, agree-disagree scale)
number of comments received
overall sentiment breakdown of the comments received
action icon (this allows you to create and assign actions).
Explore the report by question
When you select a question, the report shows you comments for that question only.
It contains a:
topic sentiment bubble chart, and
list of all comments received for that specific question.
Each comment is in a card that shows the following:
comment
sentiment assigned to that comment
topics assigned to that comment
response (e.g. the participant may have chosen the response 'Strongly Agree' and provided a comment explaining why).

Sensitive comments tab
The Sensitive comments tab takes you to a folder. This folder is used to highlight comments on sensitive topics like bullying, sexual harassment and mental health risks.
If you have AI enabled, sensitive comments are automatically detected and filed in the folder. However, if you think a comment has been incorrectly marked as sensitive or should have been marked as sensitive, you can add and remove comments from this folder.
To add a comment to the Sensitive comments folder:
Find and select the comment.
Select 'Add sensitive label'.
To remove a comment from the Sensitive comments folder:
Find and select the comment.
Select 'Remove sensitive label'.

Starred comments tab
The Starred comments tab also takes you to a folder. You can use it to store comments you'd like to refer back to. For example, if you want to collect comments for a report or presentation.
To add a comment to your Starred folder:
Go to All questions and find the comment
Select Add to starred.
When you return to the Starred comments tab, you will see your comment listed there.
To remove a comment from your Starred folder:
Go to the comment
Select Remove from starred.
When you return to the Starred comments tab, the comment will no longer appear. If you're already in the Starred comments, you will need to refresh the page for it to disappear.

Change comment sentiment or topic
If you think the topic or sentiment assigned to a comment is incorrect, you can change it.
To change the sentiment:
Select the Sentiment dropdown
Choose the option you think best describes the comment
To add a topic:
Select the Add topic dropdown
Choose the topic(s) you think best describes the comment.
This will create a grey pill on the card with the name of the topic inside.
To remove a topic:
Look for the topic in the grey pills below the comment.
Select the 'X' on the topic you want to remove.

Topic sentiment bubble chart
The topic sentiment bubble chart is at the top of your report. This chart shows popular topics found in comments (these are topics that show up in at least 10% of the comments). If want to see the full list of topics on the chart, turn on the Show all topics toggle.
Each bubble represents a topic. Where the bubble sits and what colour it is, reflects the general sentiment of those comments.
There are four colours:
Green: Positive
Yellow: Mixed
Grey: Neutral
Red: Negative
Topic sentiment bubble charts are generated for the overall survey and individual questions. You can hover a bubble in the chart to see the sentiment breakdown (what % of comments on that topic were positive, mixed, neutral or negative).
When the chart is generated for a specific question, you can also select a bubble to filter comments by that topic.

Filter or search comments
Search comments or questions
You can use the search box to look for questions or comments.
You will need to enter:
